Archbishop Lynne spent the last three weeks visiting parishes in Kelowna, West Kootenay and South Okanagan Regions, as well as visits with clergy, retired clergy, wardens, parish councils  and search committees.

 June 23  Archbishop Lynne confirmed two young people at St. Andrew’s Mission in Kelowna, Oliver and Austan.  Their confirmation prep was led by by the Rev. Canon Anne Privett   Please keep them and the congregation of St. Andrew’s in your prayers. 

On Monday, June 24, the Archbishop met for Lunch and joyful conversation with the congregation of St Paul's, Salmo. After lunch she was given a tour of the farm and the bottle recycling project they run.  Thank you to  John and Jenniffer Mobbs for hosting this event.

Tuesday June 25 was lunch with Christ Church Creston, and then late afternoon tea with a gathering of St.  John’s Fruitvale.

June 26 and 27th: she visited the Kokanee parish, a day in St. Mark’s Kaslo, including a gorgeous hike along the river in Kaslo and a potluck supper.  Thursday, 27 was a day with several groups at St. Saviour’s Nelson, again a great potluck supper and the last Facebook live prayer before the summer hiatus.

On Friday June 28, St Andrew's Trail congregation organized a tour of the neighborhood in town, lunch with the church committee, then  afternoon tea with parishioners.   

Saturday was a visit to St. David’s Castlegar, including a meeting and lunch with the search committee for the evolving Area Parish for Kootenay Summits and Valhalla parishes.

On Sunday June 30, the Boundary parish met in Greenwood.  The Archbishop preached and presided over an outdoor service of secularization of the grounds of St. Jude, a time of thanks and remembrance for the building and ministry of St. Jude’s congregation, sharing stories.    The Rev. Canon Austin Spry, the Rev. Cathy Straume, the Rev. Simon Shenstone and many parishioners from St. Mary’s Kettle Valley and Holy Trinity, Grand Forks were part of the service.  

The Archbishop wishes to thank The Rev . David Burrows, The Rev Martha Fish, The Rev. Austin Spry,  many lay leaders who helped organize and make this visit successful.  Elegant potlucks and teas….We Anglicans do know how to eat well!

After a few days off with Gerald in Kelowna, days in the office, and meetings in the Central Okanagan, the Archbishop visited the South Okanagan region on Saturday, July 6. She presided and preached at a joint eucharist in St. Edward Oliver with the Congregations of St. Edward Oliver, St Christopher Osoyoos, St Barbara Okanagan Falls, and Naramata Community Church Ecumenical Shared Ministry in Naramata.  

On Sunday. July 7 she presided and preached at the Sunday service at St Saviour's Penticton. You can watch the service here    Sunday afternoon, she met with the search committee.  Please keep them in your prayers.  The advertisement is now on the national website.  HERE

The last stop on this set of visits was Summerland, where Archbishop Lynne met with the congregation of St. Stephens for afternoon tea and a tour of the grounds. (We were going to have lemonade and cookies outside, but it was 40 degrees, so we moved inside!)
